Psychologist, psychotraumatologist

Support after distressing experiences and accidents

Maria Żeliszczak (z domu Kamińska) is a psychologist and psychotraumatologist. Her work includes supporting people after distressing experiences, including road traffic accidents.

Talking about your current situation

Maria’s areas of work include crises, trauma, anxiety and relationship difficulties. An accident or another distressing experience may be important context for discussing what is happening in your everyday life now.

You do not need to identify a diagnosis before seeking support. You can share your experiences and say which concerns feel most pressing for the consultation you are planning.

Her psychotraumatology background

Maria completed postgraduate studies in psychotraumatology. She gained experience at Centrum Interwencji Kryzysowej in Gdynia and Centrum Wsparcia dla Osób Dorosłych w Kryzysie Psychicznym.

She draws on psychodynamic methods. She describes the first three appointments as time to understand the person’s situation and history, adapting the pace and tools to the nature of the crisis.

Arranging a consultation

Maria works with adults in Polish and English. She offers appointments in Gdynia and online. Her calendar shows the availability and format of psychological consultations.

She describes the first visit as a calm conversation that requires no preparation. If you are apprehensive about returning to difficult events, you can ask about the scope of further support and how the pace of the conversation is agreed.
